Description

Original prairie landscape by Canadian artist Ruth Pawson, known for her paintings of the Saskatchewan landscape and open prairie. This work captures the expansive character of the Canadian Prairies with rolling fields, a distant ridge, scattered farm buildings, and a broad cloud-filled sky.

Pawson spent much of her career in Regina and exhibited extensively throughout Saskatchewan. Her work was included in numerous group and solo exhibitions, and examples of her work have been represented in public and private collections across Canada.

The painting has a strong sense of depth and atmosphere, with layered greens, warm field tones, and a wide horizon that reflects Pawson’s focus on the changing light and space of the prairie landscape. Signed lower right and presented in its vintage wood frame.
